Interesting interview. Andy was a little 'spikey' to start with but obviously relaxed after while, once he took his shoes of your sofa and stopped making comments about drivers! You can tell him and Clarkson have spent loads of time together, could be brothers. Alas the recent BBC 'wokeness' means Top Gear will never again exist but it was 'of its time' and should be celebrated. The farm had the same edginess, I loved it. A night out drinking with him and Clarkson would be very entertaining. Sort of a 'Derick & Clive' revisted.. he he..

You know, regarding the Argentina special controversy. I'm a Czech from Central Europe with no ties to the UK or Argentina whatsoever. At the same time I absolutely support the British claim on Falklands as legitimate in every single possible point of view and Argentinian claims starting with Tordesillas as ridiculous, and I also consider the sinking of General Belgrano as totally justified in that war and that particular situation and I couldn't care less had the whole crew either survived or perished. Because Argentina was the invader and in the wrong in that war. That all being said, even though I absolutely believe that noone actually planned this and that neither Jeremy Clarkson nor Andy Wilman could have noticed this in advance, one thing is certain: there is a whole production team preparing this show. It is hard to belive that from the scouts who were searching for the suitable cars, through people who purchased them from the owners and who filled in all the paperwork to people who fitted them with cameras, etc. noone actually noticed the licence plate and didn't make the connection to Falklands war. Especially when they knew that the special will be shot in Argentina and they actually planned to go all the way south to where many of the Belgrano crewmembers lived. And don't tell me that there aren't circumstanes where it is possible to fit the car with a termporary different registration plate. To me the more probable course of events was that some people must have actually noticed it but in the typical British arrogant way they thought that it will go just like with old British and German WWII soldiers/marines/airmen meeting each other after all the years and becoming best pals (something that we here in Central Europe, having suffered the atrocious behavior of every branch of german military and state apparatus, find quite disgusting). You know the old "Let bygones be bygones, it was all a bit silly and we had a lot of fun anyways". Brits can't fathom that this is not a standard behavior and that there are parts of the world where such old wounds (regardless of whether those wounded were in the right or in the wrong) are still acutely felt. And then in this case they were amazed what kind of situation unfolded. Get it into your thick heads: the whole world simply isn't in every single aspect just like the Brits. Of course the other thing is how badly the Argentinian yobbos damaged their contry's reputation due to their pettiness, and from what I've read a lot of Argentinians feel deeply ashamed for that incident. Unfortunately noone came out of this mess looking all that well.

Just a refresh without trying to modify it. The idea was being a reasonably priced car. Throwing a bunch of aftermarket parts at it is basically just the easy way and takes away the challenge and charm of the car.
